My name is Jenivive , and I’m writing with a heavy heart and a deep hope for support for my incredible son, Osita. Osita is a bright, determined, and kind young boy who faces more challenges in his daily life than most of us can imagine. Despite everything he has been through, he approaches life with a resilience that inspires everyone around him.

Osita was born with complex medical needs, including VACTERL association—a rare condition that affects multiple parts of the body. Over the years, he has endured surgeries and treatments for conditions like exomphalos minor and colonic atresia. These medical challenges have shaped his young life, but they’ve never dulled his spirit.

In addition to these health issues, Osita lives with spinal abnormalities, including an abruptly ending spinal cord and a low conus medullaris. These make mobility a significant challenge for him. While Osita can move around with a traditional wheelchair, it’s physically demanding and limits his ability to fully participate in school activities and enjoy time with his friends.

An electric wheelchair would be life-changing for Osita. It would allow him to navigate school with greater independence, reduce the strain on his body, and give him the freedom to move around more easily. Unfortunately, despite his clear need, we’ve been told that he doesn’t meet the NHS criteria for sponsorship.
