A hand for Francis Fang

In early May of 2017, our (Woodbine Entertainment)  co-worker and friend Francis Fang suffered a hemorrhagic stroke while on vacation visiting his family in Malaysia. Due to his medical condition,  it took months until he was cleared to travel back to Canada and recieve more medical care. In August he finally arrived, and was transfered to the Trillium Hospital stroke recovery unit, where he stayed until October. He was then transferred to Runnymede Health Centre for more extensive rehab, and recently transferred again to St. Hildas senior care and short term rehab facility. Thankfully his time to go home is very near, Francis will be finally going home this April of 2018. His path to recovery has been extremely difficult to say the least, but his hard work and relentless determination to get better has shown in his progress. From not being able to eat, talk, or even stand, Francis has come a very long way. He is now eating on his own, his speech is almost there, and he could stand and even walk slowly with the help of someone by his side. His road to recovery is still quite a ways, but with our support and motivation, I feel that long road will become much shorter. I was once told that "The power of  friendship and love is stronger than any force in this world". I truly believe we are all modern day super heroes, but our special powers are just not as glamorous or extreme as those you would see in a comic book or action movie. We were all blessed with the power to help others heal, by showing them the power of love and being there for them when they need us the most. So this is why we are here, and this is why you're reading this right now. With no family here in Canada, and now unable to work, medical bills, equipment, and house hold bills are stacking up. Only depending on long term disability income, our friend Francis really needs our support. So let's put on our super hero faces, come together and do whatever we can to help. Earlier this month, I spoke to Francis, and he started to cry. I asked him why he was crying? He replied back, "I don't know how I could ever repay all those who have helped me through this tough time". I said to him,  just get better Francis, find that inner strength that we all have burried deep down hidden inside our mind and soul. Find that fight in you, and that never give up attitude and just get better for us Francis, thats it. That would be the world's greatest gift in return.
So I ask all Francis's family, friends and  co-worker's to please share this go fund me link with as many people as possible. And remember, you don't have to personally know somebody to help them. Who was once a stranger before your help,  will become a friend after your help. We are all brothers and sisters created by the same being, that makes us family.
So, on behalf of myself, Francis and  his family, we would like to say....Thank you all so, so much from the bottom of our hearts. Words could never describe how thankful we are for your support and may God bless you all and keep you safe.
Thank you for the "power of love".
