On April 25, 2020, Pablo Reilly left behind his mother, Colette Murphy, and us.
Many of us know Colette and Pablo through Urban Harvest, Colette’s incredible company that provides so many of us with the heirloom seeds and seedlings that enrich our gardens, balconies, and lives. Colette has been a devoted and passionate member of our farmers’ market communities for so long, and Pablo was with her every step of the way.
This tragedy is greatly amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic. So many of us would like to be able to support Colette, but must find ways to do so from a distance. We all know how difficult this experience has been for farmers, who have been losing their primary sources of income from farmers’ markets, Seedy Saturdays, and closing stores. Colette has already been working so hard to support her staff and help our communities grow the beautiful vegetables and flowers that we depend on.
Now is our opportunity to support her, by raising funds to build a greenhouse in Pablo’s honour.
When we asked Colette how we could support her, she asked us to help her build a greenhouse to remember Pablo. There couldn’t be a better way to represent their special bond than a greenhouse, a space they both loved and where they spent so much time together. Please help us realize this dream, and keep Pablo close to Colette, and to all of us.
Your generous gift will go towards building Pablo's greenhouse and to Colette's immediate expenses in these difficult times. Please share this campaign widely. Thank you for your support and love.
A quick note: the organizers of this fundraiser are 3 friends of Colette's from Toronto's growing and market communities. Colette will be added as the direct beneficiary of the funds, and will be the only person who has access to them. We will update this space once she is set up to receive the funds.
