A good man's down & needs our help.
UPDATE (11/7/2018)
We are expanding this campaign to also help with medical expenses after Charlie was taken to the hospital on his way home from the Rebels Reader and Author event this past weekend with severe chest pains and trouble breathing. He has been in the hospital since Sunday while the doctors try to figure out what is going wrong. So far their best guess is Amyloidosis, but its not confirmed. It is a rare condition where rogue proteins collect in the heart, kidneys, etc. and prevent it them working properly. Not much is known about it unfortunately, and for Charlie basically means his left ventricle is not properly working and his heart is only operating at 30%.
Not knowing is stressful. Worrying about what this can mean is worse. Add in the anxiety of being trapped in a hospital bed 2 hours away from home and his boys and it is hell. Meanwhile, the bill continues to climb. Let's help ease at least one stress for the Big Guy. We will post updates as we have them to keep you in the loop.

Our friend Charlie is a single Dad, working 3 jobs to make ends meet but the engine blowing in his car was a crushing blow he couldn't plan for.
This week, the engine in his Kia died on the way to his oldest son's hockey game. This happened with his youngest in the back seat and they were stuck on the side of a major highway. After having it towed and inspected by the mechanics, his worst fears were confirmed, there was no easy fix. An entirely new engine is needed. A used engine will be $1700 and the install will be another $1500.
We all know that Charlie would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it and now it's time for us to show him that we're here when he needs us. We're asking for him because he won't ask for himself. Help us show him he is loved, appreciated and there are still amazing people out there who care enough to help.
He NEEDS a dependable vehicle to drive to work as well as to transport the boys we've come to think of as part of our own families.
