A Fresh Start for Kathy

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kathy, and I have  suffered  a series of  several problems that have affected my overall well being, and now I find myself in the position of needing to ask for assistance.  I am 57 years old, and I have always been a very private person, so it is hard for me to ask  for help.
I have been living in my childhood home for the past 52 years and getting along fine.  Then I lost my job in 2007, and the recession hit soon after, and I was unable to find a job, despite applying for over 300 jobs in one year alone.  I relied on unemployment, used all my savings, cashed out my retirement & life insurance funds,  had some help from friends, and sold a lot of belongings to pay the bills.
I had a temporary job in 2010-2011, then nothing til March 2016 when I was hired for a full time position.  During training my third week on the job, I fell and broke my shoulder.  I was off on worker's comp. and planned to return when my injury was healed.  But I was not hired back, as I did not meet the policy for rehire after injury, because I had not yet become a permanent  employee.
I did everything I could to work with my mortgage company to modify my loan and keep my home, but finally I had exhausted all the options, and had to put my "forever home" up for sale.  Unfortunately, I waited too long, and there wasn't enough time to sell it before the bank foreclosed on me, and my home was sold at auction Aug. 14. 2017. I did not receive anything from the auction proceeds.
I now find myself on the verge of being homeless, unless I can find someplace to move quickly.  My health has also declined over the last few years, and I now have  a diagnosis of Stage 4 Kidney disease, and will most likely have to start dialysis in the near future, as well as getting on the donor list for a kidney transplant.  I have applied for Social Security long term disability, and am hopeful it will come through soon.  That is a lengthy process and can take months.  I am working with a good disability attorney, who takes his fee out of whatever benefit I will receive.
At the present time,  my only income is a small survivor's pension from my mother of $204 per month.  I was planning to use the equity I'd get from the sale of my house to survive on until my disability came through.  Now I have nothing, and need to move within the next few weeks.  I have found a nice duplex in my familiar neighborhood, but I need the money for the deposit, and first month or two of rent, as well as some additional funds to pay the final costs on utility bills, and to start up new services.  I also might have some other moving costs  that I am not aware of yet.  I think that the $4000 amount I requested would be enough to make the move, but I need the money right away.  The duplex will be available by Sept. 8, and the new owners of my home want me out as soon as possible. If I don't move out on or before that date, the new owners can lock me out and put me on the street.
I appreciate the assistance so far of those helping me to pack up , organize and go through 52 years of belongings and memories; mine, my parents, and grandparents.  I appreciate and thank you for taking the time to read my story, and hope that you can help me out with a donation, no matter how small, to reach my goal to move as quickly and painlessly as possible.
I think fate stepped in with the availability of the duplex so close to when  I needed it.  I have also realized that this house was too much for me to take care of any longer, and I am trying to stay positive that this move will be a "Fresh Start" for me. Please "Like" and "Share" my story with your friends, families, and anyone else you think might be able to help me.  One problem or the other would have been hard enough to deal with, but to have my home, my health, and my lack of income happen all at the same time, is more than many people could probably manage.  I have always been calm, strong, and optimistic that things will get better, and that people are willing to  help if they just are given the opportunity and request. Thank you for your donation.
