A final goodbye for our beloved Nick Meeks

Hello everyone, I’m Chrissy Meeks and my children (Kayla , Bryant & step daughter Courtney) and I are hoping to raise funds for my husband Nick’s funeral expenses. Nick battled kidney failure for 8 long years which came with many challenges for our family. Throughout his medical journey being diagnosed with Congestive heart failure, dialysis treatments, & generally frequent hospitalization Nick never lost his spark in life. His most recent and final hospitalization lasted over 60 days, which painstakingly came to an end Wednesday afternoon. The majority of his last trip was spent in the intensive care unit once being diagnosed with Calciphyalxis, a disease or complication from his kidney failure and dialysis. This uncommon and life threatening disease in short terms is where calcium accumulates causing blood clots, painful skin ulcers, and infections which spread all throughout Nicks body. It has been extremely difficult and stressful time for our family watching the progression of this disease which ultimately took over. If anyone knew Nick, then they would know that he has never gave up during these 8 years. Even in his final days he stayed strong and resilient. Nick loved his family and friends and we will be sure to keep everyone updated with any services to come.
