A Film-documentary about Repentance

Donation protected
Can an IRA terrorist London bomber repent? Why should he repent? Does it matter if he does? Who cares? Should victims care? Should a terrorist be allowed to repent? What is repentance anyway? Who decides when a terrorist is repentant? Is it possible to judge a repentant terrorist? Is there ever a time when a former terrorist should forget all about repentance and just get on with life? Has a terrorist who has served his time done his bit? Is repentance all about making a bad person feel better about himself? Is God interested in terrorists repenting? Who says? I am making a film-documentary about this subject because I was a 15 year old kid who was inducted into the IRA and later sent to bomb London when I was 18 years old. My story has been told in a book and in various documentaries over the years, but the core story - the bit about the repentance - was always glossed over by producers and directors who were more interested in the IRA, the bombs and the politics. Award-winning journalist Peter Taylor made a famous documentary about me years ago entitled "The Volunteer" which you can view on YouTube. I served fourteen years in prison -mostly in Wormwood Scrubs in London [where I repented or did I?] and then finished off in the Maze Prison/Long Kesh. I had to fight a campaign back then to force the Home Office to allow me to apologise to my victims - it was not thought appropriate to allow an IRA bomber to apologise and nobody believed I was sincere, not the government and least of all the IRA... Many years have passed and I feel it is time the core story - the bit about repentance - was told in a clear and direct manner since so many IRA terrorists in Northern Ireland have been told that repentance is unnecessary and is 'religious drivel'. I have been writing a blog for over a year about matters relating to this and I want to now develop into a vlog and into a film-documentary. If you have not already seen my blog, please have a look at it - www.irishpeaceprocess.blog If you not appalled by the notion of repentance - and many people are - then consider helping me to defray the costs involved in this project. I may say that the many hundreds of hours of research, interviewing and writing for my blog I have financed entirely myself without any form of advertising or donations from anyone. Obviously I hope that young people - in particular young men - might learn something about my change of heart. Maybe the vlog and the film might get into prisons. Nowadays social media carry a story across the world in minutes.  I am fully researchable on Google with a simple search for:  Shane Paul O'Doherty IRA Thanks for your time.
