A Fighting Chance For Ovidio

Donation protected
Hello, my family and I started this Go Fund Me account to help raise money for my father, Ovidio. He has been diagnosed with brain cancer and while there are many resources for cancer such as chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation therapy unfortunately that doesn’t mean it will save his life. Because my father has been diagnosed with Glioblastoma (GBM), which is a very rare and aggressive cancer. Unfortunately there isn’t much known about GBM and therefore leads to only a handful of survival rates. The scary part is that you could be living with this cancer and not even know you have it. Because it doesn’t matter whether you are in perfect health or not. What causes this cancer can even be your own brain cells or you just so happen to have a genetic disorder. However there is hospitals that can help expand his life from just months to years. My family and I have been fighting for him to get in a clinical trial to one of these hospitals and while you don’t need money for a free trial that doesn’t mean the hospital will accept his case. However if he does get into a clinical trial his trial could end before he even gets his full treatment. Right now my father is in a city hospital that doesn’t have the resources to help him. Not only do they not have the resources to help him but they also waste time on working with him. Which time is everything with cancer especially with Glioblastoma. That’s why we need your help. My family does not have funds or the resources to help get him into one of these hospitals. On May fourth is when this all started. I saw my father’s legs sprawled out in front of our apartment door. What was left after the ambulance was a scene of horror. Garbage all around, empty medical supply packaging all amongst the floor, a surgical mask full of blood, and his slippers in disarray. The way his eyes looked at me in innocence and confusion when the ambulance worked on him. Those images will never leave me. I can see them so vividly. Within a few weeks I watched a strong independent man wither away. From laughing to silence all because of this cancer. I miss his cooking, I miss his odd humor, I miss his smile, I miss his voice, I miss him. There is a forever silence throughout our apartment that cannot be cured until he comes home healthy. I want to give my father so much more. There are so many more experiences he needs to have before leaving this world. If I know one thing about my father is that he loves his family deeply. Having a family gave him a purpose in life. So if not for me please donate for him. So we could give him more loving memories to look back on. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
