Every parent's worst nightmare happened on March 29. I co-parent with my son's mother, who lives in California with her boyfriend. My son was admitted to the hospital under the worst circumstances. He was badly abused, resulting in almost every inch of his body being bruised and a fractured wrist. I wasn't notified until the day after and flew out to California as soon as I heard the news. My son's in temporary foster care from this incident. I've been in close contact with the detectives, CPS, nurses, and doctors. He's expected to make a full recovery, but he's already showing signs of trauma. My goal is to have my boy come home with me after court, which may be a lengthy process, as I live in VA and my son is in CA.
So, any funds to help get back and forth to California would be greatly appreciated, as I may have to fly back and forth a few times in a short period of time. I do have a daughter on the way as well as a stepson who is seven.
My son is going to need therapy and physical therapy as just a start. He's going to need to go to multiple appointments, resulting in me having to take time off of work.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
