My name is Paula, and I am fundraising for a family who has had a very difficult year. The couple has two daughters, one of whom lost her husband several months ago. She turned to her father for help, and he paid for the funeral for his son-in-law.

The man's other son-in-law recently found out that he has cancer in three different parts of his body. He has spent time in the hospital for treatment and then had to return to the hospital with pneumonia. He is unable to work, and his wife is unable to work as she cares for him. Again, dad stepped in to help financially, but has put his home in jeopardy to do so. He is retired, and his wife is a cancer survivor. This all has put them under a great deal of stress and uncertainty.
