A Fairy Godmother’s Ovarian Cancer Treatment

UPDATE: Unfortunately, Angela's battle with Ovarian Cancer has not gone the way we hoped. We are now faced with the reality that our beloved mother has just weeks left with us on earth, to maybe a few months if we are really lucky. There aren't really words to describe the sorrow that we feel right now. Over and over Mom has expressed her concern for the financial impact that this trial will have on my dad, who will be left behind to try and put together a life after cancer. Countless procedures, hospital stays, and now funeral costs add up quickly and overwhelmingly. We, as siblings, would love to do anything we can to make that impossible task a little bit easier for him, and this GoFundMe seems to be the best way we know how. We are so unspeakably grateful to anyone who is willing to donate any amount. We have felt your love, prayers, and support throughout the last 18-months and it has meant the world.

Original: Anyone who knows Angela knows she finds her greatest joy in serving those around her. Whether it be through her non-profit The Cinderella Project Utah, which gives thousands of dollars each year to local schools, as a mother and grandmother, or in countless other ways, she is known for thinking of others before herself. Many people know that she has dealt with extensive health problems for her entire life, including Lupus the last decade or so, but in October of 2022 she was diagnosed with her greatest challenge so far - late stage Ovarian Cancer. She has handled this trial with her usual grace and continues to look for ways to serve those around her, but now we have the rare opportunity to try and lift her burdens like she has done for so many of us. Angela's treatment includes multiple painful surgeries and due to her underlying Lupus, she requires in-patient chemotherapy in the Intensive Care Unit at Huntsman Cancer Center at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Countless kids in the community consider her a “fairy godmother,” so let’s all try to pull together and work a little magic for her.
