D'ORLANDO BROTHERS ON THE ROAD TO INDY
When it comes to racing formula cars, the d’Orlando brothers from Hartsdale, NY have all the aspects that they need to make it to INDYCAR. They have the talent that has been proven with the 2022 USF Championship by Michael and the 2021 FRP F1600 Championship by Nicholas, along with a lengthy resume of national and international success in karting. They have the dedication which shows in their countless hours off-track efforts putting together partnership packages, race team discussions & decisions and pre-season testing schedules, all while balancing a college education. Their personalities are contagious… have you ever seen Michael without that infectious smile? And their work ethic on track is second to none. These aspects are part of a winning formula for a race car driver. Except there’s only one thing holding them back.
Funding.
The support of various partners over the years have permitted Michael and Nicholas d’Orlando the opportunity to show that they don’t fit the stereo-types of a typical race car driver. Their family does not have a history of generational wealth or benefactor money, and they don’t have a legendary name in motorsports to work with an already established network of people. But they win races and championships despite these limitations. They have always done more with less. Not surprisingly, the general public is unaware of the economics of motor racing. And there’s two of them.
Another trait that the d’Orlando brothers have is… each other. For 15 years in racing together, they’ve never wavered to support each other unconditionally. Even when they raced against each other on track where they showed no mercy, as soon as that battle was over they were back together talking about how they can make each other better. And no truer showing of this Brotherly Love and Sacrifice is more evident than when Nicholas took a seat on the sidelines for two years in 2019 and 2020, so Michael could start his car racing career. He stood trackside with him every step of the way. Nick deserves as much credit for Michael’s success as the 2022 USF2000 Champion than almost anyone.
We’re not asking for charity. We’re not looking for pity. We’re just ready to go to work for those that want to be a part of the next American talent in motorsports. We appreciate your support.
