A Day and Night for Luke

I met this amazing young man last year and his smile lit up the room.
At the time I didn’t know he was ill and he didn’t feel the need to tell me. He was like any other 24 year old on a night out with friends.
Getting to know him over time he confided in me he was ill. My heart sunk but he smiled and told me he was going to kick this Cancer in the arse.
His positive attitude and strength amazes me.
He then went on to tell me his story.
When you read this you will relate 100% and want to be part of this amazing event to help raise money for him to get some rest bite which is well and truly deserved.
I am trying to raise this money to send Luke and his mum away to a spa to be together to try and get some rest and recovery.
If anyone deserves this it’s this Mother and Son.
Luke’s Story below in his own words:
I read the other day its estimated that 1/3 people will be diagnosed with cancer in some point of their life. Safe to say cancer has touched everyone somewhere down the line of family or friends, so I’m no special case or rare exception. However I can only give my perspective on it, which started when I was 15 and my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer just after my dad passed away, fortunately she got through it. I was diagnosed with stage 2 testicular cancer in February and she has been amazing while I have gone through it, encouraging me to do anything I can outside of medicine to help the progress. It is so reassuring having someone next to you who has been through what you are experiencing. There’s no sugar coating it, I’m on the back end of a 12 week course of chemotherapy with 120 hours under my belt, its horrible and I hate that its so common in all our lives. But unfortunately that is life, and I feel fortunate to have learnt that it's how you deal with the challenges life gives you which defines you as a person. I will come out stronger from this and I hope this encourages people to strengthen those around them.
