A daughter's wish for her daddy

Donazione protetta
Hi my name is Kendyl and I am 8 years old.
(I want to help my Dad because he suffered a brain injury due to a random assualt and is the best Dad ever so I asked for help to write this)
On April 1st of this year my Dad was walking me to school at 8am in morning on a city street that is one of the most beautiful walkways in our town.  He carried my backpack as I rode my scooter alongside him.  I really really wanted to take my scooter that morning.  As we passed by one of Dad’s favorite coffee shops, what one would think was the worse April fool’s joke ever became a reality. A man came up behind my Dad and for no reason hit him in the back of the head several times and when he would not go down began hitting him in the face many, many times.  He kicked him and continued to hit him. Dad did everything he could to protect me. I watched as he beat my Dad for almost 10 minutes, afraid to yell for help as the man may come after me. Finally, some ladies from the coffee shop helped us and the man ran off grabbing my backpack.  He got into a car across the street and came back at us with the car and tried to run us all down. Several Policemen came and found the man. He also hurt a policeman the same morning.  I was not harmed physically and my Dad was lucky to be alive. I am so glad. He received a severe head injury with mental difficulties that has affected his memory. I know loves me very much and is very strong as he has worked very hard to get better and is determined to relearn everything; even the ABCs. I have been helping him learn how to do things like reading and telling him stories of things we did before hoping he will remember them.  I can see he is hurting as he tries to maintain our life. Dad got a brain injury; his Doctors want him to rest and heal however everything costs money so he is working at getting back to getting a new job and allow us to keep our home. He works so hard to keep a smile on his face and stay strong for me but I know he is hurting. He needs help. He worries about monies every day and should be resting and healing. We both need help so we can move on and not be victims. We don’t want to be scared anymore. We are both getting help from some great counsellors, doctors, and other sources but it goes beyond that. We need to keep our lives. All of the plans for summer holidays had to be cancelled. Our special trip together didn’t happen. I want to still be able to sleep in my bed and go to daycare after school. Dad is doing all he can but needs some support to get therIt is not easy for him but people say he is “very tenacious” and “remarkable”. He's been making amazing progress at putting our life back in order and adapting to a new life.
My dad has been doing some work training to get a new start but money is tight. We are at risk of being homeless. He needs the help to keep us afloat until he is well enough and healed to be able to get a good job to support us. Our ‘safety net’ is almost gone. We need the help so we don’t lose our home and everything with no place to go. I love my room.

This was a horrible thing that happened to us in broad daylight and I would ask God that none of you would ever have to witness or go through anything like this. Your donation can make a huge difference and any support you can provide is greatly appreciated – a Facebook share of this campaign or even a single dollar donation is an incredible gift and we're so very grateful for your time and support. A job for my Dad would be great too.
With love and great thanks (and a reminder to be aware of stranger danger always)
– Kendyl
Ps. It has almost been a year now since this assualt and dad is still just starting to regain memories, still having headaches frequently and unable to hold down a job. So far has been unable to get the finacial support he should be getting but somehow he keeps falling through the cracks. He is still trying to get the help he needs to get back to a new normal but stable life.  We have both been able to go to a counselor to help with this trauma that still causes us  a high level of fear especially waking down the street.
