I'm reaching out for help because my mother and I have been facing a series of challenges since I escaped a domestic violence situation in April 2024. Despite the difficulties, we're grateful to have made it through, and my abuser is now serving a state prison sentence. However, we're struggling to make ends meet, and I'm hoping to find some support. We've had to deal with car repairs, a water leak, and a furnace breakdown, all while trying to care for my mother, who has become increasingly dependent on me due to her declining health. I'm her sole caregiver, and unfortunately, I'm not eligible for compensation. So we are solely on her income alone and no way to catch up. I'm doing my best to care for her, but when all of this happened at once it seriously started taking a toll on my mental health.
