I started this project back in 2017. I am putting together an anthology; a collection of poems written by people suffering from mental health issues, PTSD, bipolar, depression, anxiety, postnatal depression etc and also by the loved ones of people suffering. Sadly 16 people take their own lives in this country every single day and all ages and a lot of which are men.
I would like to get this book published in time for Mental Health Awareness week in October. The money raised is to self-publish this book but in case I find a publisher who will do it free of charge the money raised will go to either MIND charity or depending on the amount I am seriously considering setting up a social enterprise, not for profit or charity to help provide complementary therapies to people in crisis.
About a year ago I put this fund on hold as I was not sure what would happen with any remaining money but now I know for certain and because of this I have restarted the campaign. Unfortunately, I am unable to reactivate it but have to start afresh. However, I have all the details from the original donations and minus "stripe" fees there is currently £167.67 already donated.
The list of people that have already donated are as follows:
Simon Ellwood Haydn & Lilly Ward Budgie Burgess Christopher Hamp Rachel Hall Heather Park David Taylor Steve Adams
Thank you so much to all of the above for donating to the campaign to reach its current balance of £167.67.
I am still collecting poems and please be aware this is not a writing competition even a list of meaningful sentences is sufficient. It is all about raising awareness; so please carry on sending them to me.
I have also made some bracelets to help fund the campaign. They are £5 each and I will be having them available to buy on my blog very soon.
Thank you so much for reading and supporting this cause.
