A Diagnosis for Daddy

Donation protected
It’s incredible what can happen in just under a year. A hard working family can go from having just enough to get by, to not having enough for survival.
About 9 months ago, 27 year old Tyler Ledingham started having trouble eating. He noticed that a few times a week, he seemed to have trouble keeping meals down. He thought maybe he’d eaten the wrong thing, but it continued to happen, no matter what he ate.
Within a few months, he was barely able to eat at all. He began to lose weight, becoming dehydrated very easily. He will vomit almost everything he drinks or eats. His body doesn’t let him swallow anything, so he struggles with all the symptoms of starvation; he’s exhausted, unfocused, his entire body hurts, and he can’t sleep. He can’t even swallow his medication, and he’s increasingly depressed because doctors haven’t found a diagnosis for him.
To top it all off, Tyler is the main breadwinner for his family. His partner, Kalika, stays at home with their almost 2 year old son, Elijah. Tyler has been forcing himself to work despite how he feels because his family is depending on him.
He has lost over 110 lbs in 6 months, yet works his shifts all week long, comes home and is a wonderful partner and father. This illness is taking its toll on Tyler and his family. What this family truly needs, is time for Tyler to get a diagnosis and treatment. There is a very high chance he will need surgery, but he hasn’t been able to stop working to get help. Kalika can’t work instead, because Tyler’s job pays more, and they absolutely cannot afford childcare for Elijah.

This family has been through so much together, but I’m afraid this situation might leave them so behind that they can’t recover.

Kalika is one of my dearest friends in the entire world, and I would do anything for her. The least I can do is collect funds for her family and send them to her, keeping the worry of managing this campaign off of her shoulders. She has fought so many battles, from the loss of her firstborn son, an abusive relationship, and now an autism diagnosis for Elijah. She will not give up without a fight, but we all need help sometimes.

With a little financial stability, Tyler will be able to go see the doctors he needs, take the time off work to let his body heal, and allow his family to breathe a little easier.

Every little bit counts. Thank you.
