Funeral Expenses & Incidental Cost

Khamron is the fourth of her five "heartbeats." The one that came through to life with such high energy and a lively personality is remarkably his. His zeal for it developed around Disney and Cartoon Network shows, cooking, gaming, trying new things, and being a laid back type of person. He speaks his mind at first thought and always has something witty to say on any subject.

He aspires to become a master chef, as he finds the most joy in preparing food. I'd never seen a child love food so much. Having observed his interests most of his life, we are not surprised by his ambition. We know that there are other dreams in there. Everyone has them.

At 18 years old, he faces his most challenging obstacle in life at the moment. A few months ago, he began expressing chronic, debilitating pain in his lower back. He didn't know if it had been due to his work, as he is always on his feet. He thought the pain could be fixed with Aleve or other over-the-counter medicines. He started losing his appetite and believed it was because he was "too tired" to eat. When his stance changed and affected his ability to walk straight, his mother knew something more needed to be investigated.

After several attempts to seek urgent care and being turned away with more over-the-counter medication, his great uncle, Dr. Robert Dawson, M.D. (retired), urged Khamron and his mother to insist on emergency care. Khamron was seen and admitted into the hospital with his uncle's assistance, hoping that his condition was easily resolved; however, the circumstance was more urgent than conceived.

He is diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer that primarily affects children and young adults. Khamron's experience with it specifically affects his spine. Treatment options for him at this moment is chemotherapy.  He is hopeful and determined to make a full recovery.

As you can imagine, the road to complete healing and rehabilitation is a winding and costly one. His mother has taken time away from her work as an independently working hairstylist/entrepreneur to be at his side. His chemotherapy treatment is estimated to extend over the next 9-12 months. We are confident of seeing Khamron make the full recovery he is fighting for.

We seek to raise a total of $50,000 to cover anticipated costs of hospital bills/medical expenses, travel for treatment, household expenses, living expenses, caretaking/respite care costs.

Could we count on your support?

All assistance is greatly appreciated. If you are unable to provide any financial aid, then please share this campaign with others. Every contribution matters, and every penny counts. Thank you for all you can do to lend your helping hand.

Love,
Khamron, his Family & Friends
