A community playground for Arroyo 3

Arroyo 3 is nestled between the more tourist beach towns of Zipolite and Mazunte. It has a beach that is so small and hidden that barely anyone goes. There are a few small stores, but 98% of the tourists who come to this area don’t even know this town exists. The majority of the people here speak Zapoteco along with Spanish. This community is where I’ve decided to spread my roots. Last year, I asked many people in the community what the town needed, and across the board, people mentioned the lack of a community park. This is something that most towns in Mexico have, but not Arroyo 3. I’m aiming to change that.
I’m working with an architect and community members to do a combination of DIY projects and pre-fabricated metal structures (swings, see-saw, etc.) to make a park to be proud of. If we have the resources, the town will
come together in April for a community work day to have all the pieces set up. For this to happen, I’d realy love your help. $20 goes a really long way here. $50 does so much. $100 or more and the project is almost complete. It will take so little to make this happen, and I’m hoping my world community can help my Mexican community make it happen.
