I have been on continuous contact with the man working at the kill pen that keeps me updated. With that, he updated me saying that the mare and foal had been spoken for and that I would need to stay updated with him on who is next. This means that I will be keeping in contact with him and he will continue to let me know who ships and when they have until. I have set the goal to reach out to him on the next ship day and whatever horse is left at that ship day, that no one else wants will be the one next one we go for. I am so thankful that so many other people are setting out to get these horses, so it is nice to find out they have homes. I will keep you all updated on who shows up next for us!
We have had multiple rescues over the years, and our dad played a large role in helping making this passion of ours a reality. Two years ago our dad passed away during the holiday season, and we are hoping that this year we can honor his memory by doing good for another living being. We hope that being can be this mare.
We realize the amount that we are requesting is large, but it will be used to pay for her bail that has been set by the kill pen. We realize that the horse(s) we have chosen to specifically fundraise for may have things that arise that are out of our control, that could potentially make them unavailable to us. With that, we have developed a list of the mares that look like they are in the worst shape and we would gladly put the money towards one of them if anything changes.
We know times are tough, but anything helps and we would love to have you as part of this journey.
