GR DIAGNOSIS & TREATMENT FUND

Donation protected
5 years ago, GR, a single mother of 5, began to experience dizziness, tremors and numbness in her arms, along with a laundry list of other odd symptoms. She is not one to complain, and when she finally did reach out to doctors, all tests came back normal so they assumed it was just stress-related.

Her symptoms progressively worsened until she passed out while proctoring a final for her students. A year and a half ago  she was diagnosed with POTS Syndrome, but that still didn't cover all of the symptoms.

Her life came to a standstill. She is mostly home-bound and can barely function. She has a PICC line and and needs fluid infusions on a daily basis. Her children are left with the majority of the household responsibilities and while the school where she taught was nice enough to keep her on their payroll for a whole year even though she was unable to teach, they are no longer able to do so.

Of foremost concern is a new development where she is having sporadic difficulty walking. This points to the likelihood that she is suffering from a degenerative condition that needs to be stopped in its tracks immediately.

Last week, she finally found a doctor who has seen and been able to treat similar cases in the past. He needs to admit her for testing and expensive treatment but he is located in Boston which is out-of-state and not covered by her New York State Medicaid insurance. She must be enrolled in a private, out-of-state insurance plan by the end of THIS WEEK in order to get the testing she needs before the upcoming Yomim Tovim.

This fund is for her medical expenses only and this money is to cover her monthly premiums, the deductible, and her out-of-pocket expenses.

I know this woman well and I can attest to how difficult it is for her to allow me to reach out to the public. All she wants is to be able to return to her job and to continue supporting herself and her children in the modest way she has been up until now.

Please contribute as much as you can; even a small amount would be a huge help!
