We all have family members we are proud off, but we cannot be any prouder of Tony Duarte, son to Luis Duarte and nephew and godson to Bruno Duarte.
None of us would have ever thought a few days of hanging out at the gym to work out with dad would actually turn out to a possible path to an Olympic road.
As a young 12 year old, fun loving, innocent boy, who still enjoys being a kid, no one could believe such a passion and dedication growing for the sport of boxing.
After being asked to take a break for a year so his dad can catch up financially, Tony still wanted to keep going on, not only to defend his titles but continue his training to what can be a road to endless possibilities. Read more of Tony's story here
2018 offers a year of competitions across the U.S. each with registration fees, traveling and housing fees all under the responsibility of the parents or guardians.
As a single father of 3 amazing children the fees and expenses have taken their toll. As a proud but single uncle, I wish I can do more to support my nephew.
With your support and donations, we hope to keep the "dream" alive for Tony for 2018 and 2019 as the family prepares for his amazing future.
Coming from a very small family, my brother and I have always been independent and have supported ourselves. Now as grown adults with 'modern' families we see the struggles and miss not having the support of a large family. But we see and realize the goodness of humanity and everyone that we meet and have come to realize that sometimes the best support comes from a stranger we end up calling "family".
As a proud brother, father and uncle...we just want our sons, nephew and family members to have more and do more than we did growing up.
