# A Second  Chance For A Devoted Father

On May 9th, my family's life changed forever. My
husband Robbie was painting the eaves on our family
home when suddenly the ladder twisted and turned,
landing Robbie 12 feet below on the pavement and bleeding severely from a head wound. He was seemingly lifeless when discovered by our two preteen children. The devastating accident resulted
in a concussion, blood loss, broken ribs and, even worse, paralysis from the waist down ( his spine,
the doctors later discovered, was cracked and broken in three places).

Ironically, Robbie had enjoyed a successful 20-year
career on ladders and platforms as a billboard technician all over NYC and the 5 boroughs with out one accident. Safety was always a priority for him.

As the primary  bread provider for the family and DYI
around the houseRobbie has always been an inspiration to his wife and children, and had always had a positive outlook on life. Even upon waking after the grueling emergency operation during which doctors installed
metal rods to contain the damage to his spine, Robbie announced that he would , "fight like hell to to all and everything to rehabilitate myself." He struggles to do this even as his mom has moved into the family home
because of her own health is rapidly declining and she is on oxegen and under hospice care. At the time of the accident Robbie wasconverting our garage into a room for her.

At this time, Robbie has no feelings or movement in his legs and gets around. on the first level of our small two story cottage in a wheel chair. The house has no ramps or other wheelchair accessibility.

Yesterday we were happy and carefree,  with two amazing children and a great future. Now, both Robbie
and I are out of work and in derperate need for a controllable van with wheelchair  access so he can. continue with rehab sessions and a way to get around in general;  ($3,500) and bathroom enlargement are also needed. Robbie  is in need of other necessities, such as
an Exercise Therapy Cycle ($4,000), which would help decrease the atrophy in both legs. As I write this, insurance premiums are mounting.

I know there are so many needy people out there and unfortunately, Robbie is one of them. His dilemma is real, and our reality and financial health is looking more grim every day.

We are asking for your support, whatever you can do,
tohelp with medical costs.  Any amount is greatly appeciated. All donations will go directly to his family.  Thank-you!
