A chair and bike for Avery

Donation protected
For those of you that don't know us let me give you Avery's backstory.  Avery suffered a birth injury and was left with Cerebal Palsy which has affected so many aspects of her life.  At the age of 2.5 Avery is unable to sit, stand or walk without some sort of assisted device.  This has been a struggle on our entire family with many appointments downtown for therapy and other Dr visits.  Through Harford County Infant and Toddlers we have received many pieces of equipment on loan that have given Avery the opportunity to experience and explore things that her disorder has forbidden her from doing independently.  This campaign is to purchase 2 pieces of equipment that Avery would greatly benefit from.  The first is a Rifton activity chair which we are borrowing from HCIT but may have to return any day.  This chair has enabled Avery to be right up to the table and eat with her family which has made her want to try self-feeding on a more regular basis.  Because of the CP her tone is so low that she needs a lot of stabilization of her trunk in order for her arms to work, and even when they get the proper support she still struggles to get her hands to cooperate all of the time.  In addition to eating Avery enjoys many other activities in the chair, the picture below is Avery helping make cookies, she also enjoys reading her books, coloring and playing with puzzles in the chair.  The other piece of equipment that Avery would love to have is an adapted tricycle, which she is pictured using at therapy.  This piece of equipment she has watched other kids use and when it finally became time for her to use it she was thrilled.  Neither of these pieces of equipment are deemed necessary by insurance and therefore are not covered.  Since Avery has so many appointments and needs I have been unable to work since her birth and we are a single income family with 2 other kids and unfortunately it is just out of our reach at this point.   I never thought I would be in a position where I'm trying to get outside help, but life throws us challenges and we keep pushing on!  Please find it in your heart to donate something to help Avery get what she needs and wants and to help keep that beautiful smile on her face!  If you are unable to donate please share so she can try and reach her goal!  If you care to verify the pricing feel free to visit the Rifton website, the base prices listed do bit include the extra support that Avery is in need of.
