A Century of Service...
American Legion Post 2 needs your help raising funds needed to complete the construction of our new Veterans Community Building to be located at 5700 Old Rutledge Pike.

The American Legion Post 2 has launched our official fundraising campaign so we can build our new Post 2 home. Our immediate goal is to raise $200,000 to begin the first phase of construction. We believe with the generosity and support of East Tennessee, along with friends and family from across the county, we can make it happen!

Our Progress to Date:
Post 2 has already purchased and paid for a piece of property in Northeast Knoxville, and the Post’s “Patton Battle Tank” has been moved into position at the front of the property. We have also constructed an open-air pavilion on the property. Now it is time to break ground and get our building BUILT!

About AL Post 2:
Post 2 was the second American Legion Post established in the State of Tennessee in 1919, and it has been a part of the Knoxville community ever since. Post 2 is a family-friendly, service-oriented organization whose members are men and women veterans, and their family members, who continue to serve in the community they live, work, and play. The other groups that are part of the Post 2 family are the American Legion Unit 2 Auxiliary, the Sons of the Legion, and the American Legion Riders.

If not the Legion, then who organizes and hosts these events?
Post 2 organizes and hosts many long-standing veteran/military events that take place in the City of Knoxville and throughout Knox County, including the Annual Knoxville Veterans Day Parade, Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, and the Annual Memorial Day ceremony at World Fair Park, and many more through the entire year.

A Great Community Asset For Many:
This Veteran Community Building will be home to Post 2, but it will also provide meeting space for other non-profit veteran service organizations, youth service organizations such as the Young Marines, the Sea Cadets, local high school JROTC units, and local Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops.

How can you help?
Please help us build our new Post 2 home by donating $20, $50, $100, $500, or any amount you feel led to donate. Donations are tax-deductible.

Please share this with your friends and family across the country! If we raise the funds needed before September 1, 2023, we can move forward and break ground by Veterans Day! Your help and generous donations are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
