A Call from Borana !!!

Borana Zone is home to the largest predominantly Pastoralist Communities in Sothern Oromia Region of Ethiopia. This community resides in both Ethiopia and Kenya. It has an estimated population of 1.5 Million with about 85% of residents living in rural areas. Animal husbandry (Pastoralism) is the dominant livelihood for most people in this region. These generous communities are currently facing a severe draught caused by a prolonged shortage of Rainfall. With little access to food and water, many families are forced to skip meals in order to make their food last longer and to ensure that their little ones are fed. All their animas are dying due to lack of water and pasture leaving the residents of the region hungry.

 

 

I am organizing this fundraiser to help raise money as soon as possible for the people that are being affected by this drought right now . The money will be going towards purchasing food, nutrition for malnourished kids and transport water to the severely affected areas. I will be posting updates of how the situation is going. I urge you all to help me aid our people who are suffering through one of the worst tragedies delibrately neglected by the Ethiopian government .
