A Burgfectly Lived Life

Anyone who knows Amy and Burg knows that their story started out with sadness. Both feeling immense loss, they found each other at the perfect time. Over the past few years they have inspired us, made us giggle, helped us, virtually hugged us, and just been all-around amazing. They literally saved each other and, I know I can speak for a lot of us when I say, have become an important part of our lives.

So many of us have been utterly heartbroken over the news of Burg's illness. We have followed the Amy/Burg journey as they try to find ways to have a little more time together. The cost of caring for Burg is undoubtedly staggering. I don't know if anyone is offering financial help but I am fairly certain Amy is not asking for any. Because, that's Amy. She has devoted her life to working to make the lives of others, human and otherwise, better. She is not a taker. But, that doesn't mean we can't give.

I know that Amy is also working to raise money for Burg's Place, a sweet spot in to the to-be built new and amazing Richmond Animal League. I'm confident she wants funds to go THERE, and not to her. But, she needs us.  

I ask you all to consider making two donations...take whatever you can afford to give and split it in two. Half here to help pay for Burg's medical expenses, and half to Burg's Place. Once Burg's medical bills are paid, remaining funds collected here will go to Fetch a Cure. 

Right now, Amy is cherishing her moments with Burg. Let's do what we can to help her be able to do that, without worrying quite so much about how to pay for it all. And, let's do what we can to ensure that Burg's legacy will live on and that Amy, us, and those to come after us all have a way to remember a Burgfectly lived life.
