A Broken Heart in Need

"Widows Maker" is what they used to explain the horrible heart attack that this Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Son, Grandpa, Friend, etc. is suffering from. Full of love, kindness, a lending hand, listening ear, a go-to kind of friend... the list that never ends. He is truly one of a kind, hard to find type of person. 

For anyone who doesn't know him personally, his name is Rick Cox and he just turned 58. Born and raised in a small town in Indiana, he moved to Florida to start his family which continues to grow as he recently welcomed his 4th grandchild on July 16th, 2018. He is a hard working, family oriented person where family and friends have always been Rick's priority in life. 

During their family vacation to Tennessee, this summer (2018), Rick kept saying he was tired and felt weak. Pushing it off on the fact he traveled a full 15 hours the night before, he thought a goodnights rest was what he needed. Then on June 3rd he woke in a panic and could not breath and was admitted into ICU and was told he suffered a major heart attack were his heart was only working at less than 15%. Since then he had been admitted 2 additional times into ICU.  

Currently, his family is sitting by his side in the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, FL as they have been told, "there is nothing more we can do"... nothing is helping anymore. Therapy, Pills, Stents, Lasix, Rest, the list goes on... and still no progress. Rick's heart is only functioning at 5%, he is dying. His only hope is a heart transplant.

Rick does not have health insurance, and is not eligible for ObamaCare until January 1, 2019. He has been declined by medicare and Medicaid and temporary insurances wont accept a pre-existing condition. The doctors will not operate until they have a down payment of 680,000. This amount of money is unbelievable, but no amount of money will hold our family back from saving his life. He is a fighter, and we will NOT give up.

Yes, this is an astronomical amount of money but we will never stop believing in hope because miracles happen everyday. I've witnessed it myself, my dad suffered a Widows Maker Heart Attack and he is still alive and we don't want OUR miracle to stop here. He is here for a reason. We need your help. it takes 650,000 people to donate $1 to save his life! Please help us.
