A black young lady trying to go to college.

College is always what I wanted, being a FBI agent is the set goal. This is a long journey for me and as much as I’m excited to be apart of the criminal justice field and become a police officer first I need to be able to afford my tuition and housing fees on campus. Not having enough support from those around me makes it harder but knowing what I want and what I’ll achieve motivates me even more.

Being Black doesn’t leave much opportunities but I’m willing to still try and become an officer to stand up for those around me and MY PEOPLE, my community. I always wanted to be someone to stand up for my own people and others. With everything going on around is scares me because of the society we live in but I want to be the change while making a difference. My family can’t afford to pay for my college tuition and there’s no support from them so I have to push for myself and make things happen. Life is about surviving and that’s all I’m trying to do. I will be attending Buffalo State college which is one of my many acceptances but one with the cheapest tuition. I just want to get an education. Not having a high school graduation, this corona virus and all these protests reminds me of the world we live in and I want to be someone to stand up for others

I’m willing to work hard and I’d appreciate any support emotionally or financially. I want to help people as much as I need help in this moment.
