A bike for Amber

Amber is 9 years old and lives with her parents and 2 older brothers in the beautiful town of Hayle. Since she was a baby Amber has had physical difficulties resulting in her being diagnosed with a rare genetic difference and a global developmental delay. In the last 18 months due to another ongoing health issue Amber has also been diagnosed with Thoracic Scoliosis which has resulted in her wearing a spinal brace for 20hours a day (all night in bed and all day in school). Despite all she has going on Amber is a happy sociable lovely little girl who loves her big brothers, sharing  a special bond with eldest brother Drew.   Having such active big brothers it’s really sad when Amber cannot join them when out riding bikes. Amber has a wheelchair provided by the NHS for distances and days when she’s tired as she can fatigue easily but this isn’t the same as going out for family rides resulting in either Mum or Dad staying back with Amber.  Our wish is that we can raise funds to get a specialist bike meaning we can all get out together for fresh air and exercise and removing some barriers Amber faces in her life.  We appreciate times are financially hard during these  unusual times but would be grateful for anything that people could spare. Sadly we are unable to purchase a suitable bike ourselves with some prices in the region of £3000 plus.  We have looked into charity support and grant applications but again during this time most are not taking new applicants and those that do like it if you can fundraise part of the cost yourself.  So here we are, we have been encouraged and supported to set up this page by some of our really kind friends and family and we wish to thank you all xx
