Help rebuild a primary school in Didy, Madagascar

My name is Roger Ianjamasimanana, an Astronomer at the Instituto de Astrofisica de Andalucia (IAA-CSIC) in Spain (https://www.iaa.csic.es). I did my primary school in Didy, Madagascar, a village situated about 51 km from the nearest city. Now I have a PhD in Astronomy, and I am a professional Astronomer at the IAA-CSIC. Being a schoolboy in such a village with poor facilities, I would never imagine that one day I would obtain a PhD in Astronomy. Please visit my homepage at https://ianjamasimanana.com for more information about me. During my recent visit to Didy and I was saddened to see that my former primary school was in a terrible state. In fact, no improvement has been made since I left the school. Even worse, the school is in total disrepair, as seen in the cover photo above and the picture below. Given that cyclone is very frequent in Madagascar, the school is at a high risk of falling down.

The school definitely needs reconstruction. There are 4 blocks, but two are far worse than the others. I met with the director of the school and some teachers and discussed with them about the possibility of seeking a funding to reconstruct the school. I am now kindly asking for your help to build better school infrastructures and facilities for the children in Didy. Didy is a wonderful place surrounded by rainforest. However, the rainforest is getting destroyed; I believe that only education can change this. Your donation will help build a better future for the children in Didy, and I hope that more students from this village will obtain a PhD and perhaps become astronomers one day.
