A Better Life for Caleb

Caleb was born with cerebral cavernoma (CCM) and has already had 3 major surgeries. His upcoming surgery is the most extreme because the doctors will have to open his skull. They will remove part of the back of the skull to implant it on the front of the head, after doctors remove as much as they can of the tumor. This is not optional because the tumor is putting pressure on his brain and Caleb would most likely lose his vision in his left eye, and would eventually result in death. The doctors say they do not want to do this surgery at all due to the high risk, but after doing studies on Caleb they are not left with any other options that will save his life.
Caleb's surgery is on December 15th at Doernbechers Children's Hospital in Portland Oregon. His surgery is estimated to last 10 hours with a team of specialists.
Caleb has limited medical insurance, but it will not cover many of the costs of his care and the needs of his family. We are asking for financial support to help with medication costs, travel and living expenses.
The hope is that doctors will be able to remove as much of the tumor and remove the veins that cause the growth and pressure on the brain. They will also do some facial reconstruction that will help Caleb's confidence.
Caleb is an active boy and likes to draw, play soccer, and play video games. He has not been unable to do many of these things due to the daily pain he has been experiencing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and is desperately needed.

Los doctores removerán parte del cráneo de atrás de la cabeza y lo pondrán en la frente de la cabeza después de que hayan removido la mayor parte del tumor. Esta cirugía no es opcional porque el tumor está poniendo presión en el cerebro de Caleb y probablemente perderá su visión en el ojo izquierdo y eventualmente resulta en fallecimiento. Los doctores originalmente no querían esta cirugía por el alto riesgo, pero después de unos estudios no les queda otra opción para salvar su vida.
La cirugía de Caleb es el 15 de diciembre en el hospital Infantil Doernbecher en Portland, Oregón. Su cirugía durará aproximadamente 10 horas con un equipo de especialistas.
