A bed & power chair for Joe

Joe has been struggling with a spinal cord injury for 6 years.  He was sold a wheelchair which gave him pressure wounds on both hips which has required several surgeries and 3 years to heal.  Unfortunately during the healing process he got a wound on his tailbone which required surgical intervention.  The specialist will not release him from the hospital until her can afford to purchase a special bed.  Because he is a quadriplegic, he is required to relieve pressure by getting out of his chair often during the day.  This action causes shearing which in turn can cause wounds.  Insurance will not pay for the special bed nor can he get any financial assistance for a power chair that will assist him with pressure relief.  The power chair will help him to tilt and stand while still in the chair.
