Smile Train: Journey of Smiles

Being someone who was born with a cleft lip and/or pallet, I have a special place in my heart for children suffering from this birth defect. Fortunately as an infant I recieved plastic surgery to correct the deformalities I was born with, but unfortunately many children around the world are not afforded that same medical attention.
Journey of smiles is a mission trip put together by the non-profit organization Smile Train. While on this trip we will visit partner hospitals where we will visit with children who have either recieved surgery or are scheduled to receive surgery. We will also be visiting children and families in there homes to follow up after surgery or give encouragment before surgery.
Katie and I would like to go on the journey of smiles trip in Indonesia and be a blessing to as many children as possible. The deadline to pay for our trip is March 31st and the cost is $5,600 plus flight which will be another $2,400. We both feel this is something God has put on our heart to do and we are determined to make it happen. We do not expect any money from anyone, but if you would like to be a blessing to us and contribute to this journey, we would appreciate it more than you can imagine.
No child should suffer from the health hazards as well as the scrutiny that goes along with being born with a cleft lip/pallet. Because all of the labor and time is donated by medical professionals, the cost for a suregery is only $250. If we recieve any amount over the goal, that will be used/donated towards as many surgeries as possible. I want to make as much of a difference in these childrens lives as possible and would welcome any help in doing so.
