My name is Barbara McCarthy. I have been volunteering in Zacapa, Guatemala since 2008 with Habitat for Humanity's Global Village Program.
As a consequence of the new Habitat families moving in, the local elementary school is now severely overcrowded - currently 307 registered in a school for 150. There are problems with the plumbing and electricity, and with the roof of the school.
I am planning to bring a group to the school over their mid-year break and try to paint the school, and make as many repairs as possible in the time we have.
