I don't even know in my head where to start y'all...but how about here. No woman should ever have to  stand in her kitchen cooking enchiladas to save her life.

My friend Yaya has cancer. It has attacked her entire body and now is in her brain.

Yaya she is a fighter. She has fought through surgery after surgery. She has fought through chemo. She continues to fight, everyday, to conintue to live.

Now she's fighting for the chance to have another surgery. But first...she needs the money. $5000 plus to be exact. That's just what she owes her doctor to perform the surgery. it doesn't include the chemo treatments she pays for every week. it doesn't include the cost of travel to get to California becasue this surgery must be performed at UCLA. it doesn't include the cost of the 6 shots that she needs which will be administered into her brain before she can proceed with the surgery.

So Yaya's plan is to cook. She's going to make enchiladas and sell plates for $10. She's going to include free delivery and dessert. It's going to be delicious and amazing and I'll for sure be eating. But sersiously y'all...she's cooking to save her life!

I called Yaya today to asker her what I could do to help with the event. Here's what she needed..."about $15".

I had to ask her to repeat herself. $15? Yup..that's it. She wanted $15 to buy the supplies she need to make desserts tomorrow for her fundraiser.

I've been trying to wrap my mind around it all today. I of course took my sweet friend the $15...but I know that's not enough. I wish I had a big fat bank account becasue I would in a heart beat write a check big enough to cover these costs for her.

But then I thought...what if I could find a tribe of people and we all gave Yaya $15? What kind of impact could we have? I kinda think it could be incredible. And maybe Yaya could focus on getting better and not have to stand in her kitchen all day over a hot stove trying to raise money to continue her fight.

If you can't give maybe instead you could say a prayer, swing a chicken, or just send overall good vibes Yaya's way.

Stay tuned for updates about Yaya and her journey!
