Greetings Good People!
We are identical twins, Jack & James Young. The photo that you see of us was taken when we were in our thirties. We might as well be called "The Old Young Brothers" by now because "time flies" and we are decades further along our musical path. Our website is http://www.OnenessRecords.com, where you can hear some of our evolving mixes and learn about the creative work. Making beautiful music and song recordings has been our major goal for nearly forty years!
We are singer-songwriters who have been working on recording and perfecting a collection of fourteen, original songs for the past ten years. We now need to raise ten thousand dollars to help cover studio production costs and to make sure that we can finish the final mix, mastering and manufacturing of our truly excellent record, which must be accomplished correctly.
Our personal story is this: With the help of a loving Higher Power we have overcome alcoholism and addiction by attaining continuous sobriety since 1985. Unfortunately, in addition to chemical dependency, we discovered that we both had inherited the very serious, mental and emotional illness called bi-polar affect disorder or what used to be known as "manic depression." We learned that we had been medicating the terrible symptoms of that major disease, with the habitual use of alcohol and drugs. It became necessary for us to recover from both conditions. Naturally this has been quite challenging and yet our sobriety and relentless determination to persevere with the music has continued to inspire us to make recording art into the basic therapy that inspires and motivates our lives.
Thankfully, we have received good medical care and steadfast support from family and friends who have believed in our talent. Because of our medical condition however, we found it necessary to retire on Social Security disability benefits and so we live on very limited incomes derived from our former employment and based upon the very real disabilities that we both endure.
We are especially grateful to the superb musicians who have participated in our recording project by contributing their playing and sound engineering at a heavily discounted rate so that we could accomplish our goals. We have made an absolutely wonderful, high quality record for a fraction of what it would have cost the music industry to have produced.
This is why we are asking for your help NOW. We need to finally finish this great project that has taken such a long time and so much effort. We will return the kindness of your cash contributions once the CD is manufactured and you each will receive a copy in the form of a CD or album downloads, if your minimum, individual contribution amounts to twenty-five dollars.
