Generations have taken to the stage hundreds of times over the last 120 years of YAOS Productions (formerly known as Yeovil Amateur Operatic Society) , bringing together some of the best local talent to entertain and bring joy to the audiences of Yeovil and the surrounding towns and villages.
The Sound Of Music was YAOS Productions most recent show, due to be on stage at The Octagon Theatre in Yeovil from the 11th to the 21st of March 2020. After 6 months of preparation, the stage was set to be alive with the sound of music for 12 magical shows, with over 50 members of local cast prepared to give it their all!
Unfortunately after 5 shows, we were told that the show could not go on due to Coronavirus forcing the government to announce guidelines that advised against people going to the theatre.
We are only able to bring our shows to the stage each year because of the support shown by the local community buying tickets. COVID-19 has made our future as a society unclear, as we relied on the income from The Sound Of Music to help us bring our upcoming shows, CHESS and KINKY BOOTS to the stage.
Many people have asked whether they can donate and support us in taking to the stage once again. This is your opportunity to do just that. We would be incredibly grateful for any donations you would be able to give us.
We look forward to sharing our passion for theatre with you once it is safe again to do so.
