Today, I found this sweet girl outside of my office. She was scared, soaked in the rain, and in seemingly a lot of pain. After awhile she allowed me to pet her and dry her off. Once I earned her trust I tried to get her to follow me and that's when I found out that her back left leg was hurt badly.
I took her to my vet, Tampa Veterinary Hospital, whom I cannot thank enough for their support. Their handling of this situation has made me a loyal customer for life! When they helped her get out of the car, she unloaded a full bladder in my backseat! They wanted to call her Lucky, but because of how brave and tough she was, I named her Xena (The Warrior Pup).
Xena has a broken leg and suspected that she was hit by a car.
We have reached out to their owner via text and multiple calls without response. The Vet has estimated that her costs would be somewhere near 4-7k depending if they have to amputate her leg!
I wish I had unlimited funds to pay for this, but unfortunately I do not. This where I need your help! We are willing to foster her until we can find a new and loving home for her. Please help us raise enough money to give this brave pup another chance to live a great life. Also, if her care ends up being less, we will make sure to donate the excess to a charity that helps in these situations.
