Support Women Empowerment in Kenya!

Donation protected
I am asking for donations to help support the women of Kenya. I will be spending one month with these amazing women who are working hard to be self sufficient and support their own families. I hope you will consider making a donation no matter how small. I have already paid for my own travel, housing and daily expenses. So any donation that you make will support the Kenyan women of this program. All donations are gratefully received.

Who: Supporting Women
What: The Women's Education Program
Where: Kenya
When: I will be volunteering in Kenya with International Volunteers Head Quarters for the month of November and I am asking for donations no matter how small up through October 30, 2013
Why: All money raised will go toward the women empowerment program to supply women with the education and materials women need to be successful. Through this program women will be provided with the education and skills need to support both themselves and their loved ones. Not only will this empower themselves, but it will also empower their children and women surrounding them.

I will keep a blog and update you more specifically on how your donation changes lives for the better! Please feel to ask me any questions you may have through the site or via facebook/ email/cell. Thank you all for your support!!!!!

Program Goal:

Due to ongoing initiatives to support those affected by HIV/AIDs, many women living with HIV/AIDs are still able to continue and function on a day-to-day basis, but need support to be able to do so. IVHQ and our local partner work closely with centers which support these women and their families, providing counseling, guidance and sometimes childcare. The primary aim of these centers is to empower the women through income-generating projects, education and skill-training. At many of the centers, women are able to learn sewing, tailoring, candle-making and jewelry-making through subsidized courses, and the women also have access to finance and small business management courses, enabling them to start their own craft-making or tailoring business to generate an income and provide for their children and families.
