I'm Ki, abolitionist early childhood educator, cultural organizer and creator of Woke Kindergarten .

Right now, I do this work completely on my own with the exception of my teammate and homie, Meilei, who edits our #WokeReadAlouds series (and soon, more!).

We've sustained thus far because of generous donations & contributions. We believe in the power of community, and that's how we hope to continue this work.

We're raising funds for the following:

-CREATE (PRINT) TANGIBLE RESOURCES that families and kids who might not be able to access our content digitally, can access physically! (think 60 second texts as an actual physical text!)

-LABOR (to make sure people like Mei get paid for the work they do with and for us)

-EXPAND the team (I'm losing steam handling everything alone! I don't believe in working for free and want to give opportunities for our future abolitionists to learn & labor with us)

-INVEST in children's books & other resources that allow us to put out content

-PRODUCE our upcoming IG series/podcast SNACKTIME AND PAY our homies out here doing the work to take part

-ENVISION a website that will (hopefully one day) function as an interactive, online portal for a global community of learners to share and find community

-DEVELOP more Woke Kindergarten series and content that's currently in pre-production including: The Wake Up (think a morning meeting series), The Midnight Alphabet (Phonics and Phonemic Awareness Learning), Literacy with Ki (think reading strategies), and an early Math component (including the work we do on TikTok and other platforms)

-ALLOW us to offer resources like webinars and tangible resources to BIPOC families for FREE.

We envision Woke Kindergarten as a global abolitionist community of unlearning, as healing in practice, as a way to share knowledge that galvanizes the littlest of us to resist, abolish, create and liberate; a community that gives us space and encourages kids to FREEDOM DREAM their ways into liberatory futures.
