Wilkinson Triplets

Donation protected
As many of you already know, Joey Wilkinson and I (Lindsay) are excited to be expecting spontaneous, identical triplets, an extremely rare occurrance (something in the ballpark of 1 in 1-2 million)!

Unfortunately, we were diagnosed with Twin Twin Transfunsion Syndrome, a condition of the placenta that affects only identical multiple pregnancies in which the placenta is shared by all babies. The shared placenta contains abnormal blood vessels which connect the umbilical cords and circulations of the babies, and cause issues in the cardiovascular systems of the babies. If left untreated, there is an 80 - 100% chance that none of the babies will survive.

Fortunately, the Fetal Medicine team at the Texas Children's Hospital Women's Pavillion was able to operate and close off the vascular connections between the babies. Before the surgery, one of the triplets was in heart failure and was not expected to survive. The next day, we were happy to find that he was still alive, along with his two brothers.  All of the boys will have to be closely monitored for the duration of the pregnancy.

As happy as we are to have received the appropriate treatment, it has left us with a lot of medical debt and led to additional time off work.  I would love to spend as much time as possible with the babies after their birth.

We setup this fundraising page to help with these expenses, and to relieve some of the stress of the situation.  Thanks for all of your past and future support, it is much appreciated!
