Wife's New Heart

Donation protected
My name is Jack and this is our story.

I met my wife over 38 years ago and instantly fell in love as soon as I saw her! She is now very, very sick.

We’ve been married since 1986. After 31 years, the heart that has loved me so much is dying. She needs a heart transplant and we have been told that we do not have any other option.

The doctors said her heart is beating at only 25% of capacity and the medicine that they have put her on, will only last so long. Eventually the medicine will be rejected by the heart and it will decline rapidly.

She has been very sick for the last year and only received her diagnose last week 10/04/2017. Apparently she had a heart attack (if not two) within the past 6 months that had gone noticed and undiagnosed. Unable to work, she now knows that it was her heart that was the issue.

Because of the lack of a strong heart beat, it has allowed a blood clot to develop within her heart. Due to the heart's inability to pump properly, if the clot breaks off - she would certainly have a stroke. This worries her so much.

Her heart which has been filled with such compassion and love for so many others – is now in need of others to have compassion for her.
We are not strong enough financially to keep her from thinking the worst because of all the costs involved so far and what is to come with the hospital stay(s), content testing, doctor visits, etc., it is putting great pressure on us which is becoming unbearable.
After much research, it is clear that her chances are slim to none if we cannot acquire the funds needed to off-set the insurance shortages throughout the many years she will need to heal.

I ask for your prayers that we can find her a new heart. We are scared. I cannot explain how I feel, not alone, but very afraid for her and my daughter.

With the only option of a heart transplant; The need to rely on my insurance and the fact that if I lose it along this journey – WHAT THEN?

The cardiac specialist told us we have a protocol which he said we need to follow – she will need to wait 90-days before the next step. We now know how a death-row inmate must feel waiting for his own execution......

Since she hasn’t been working, we have fallen way behind on our bills and are at great risk of losing our home at the very same time we will be discussing her heart transplant.

Stress over the loss of our home is weighing heavy on her mind and this is something, as a husband, is intolerable.

With the time frames we are working with, Christmas will not be the joyous season we had hoped for.

To add to this trial, we have a beautiful daughter who we adopted from China. For the last 11 years, we have been the proud parents of a smart, funny and faithful little girl who has begun to withdraw because she doesn't know how to deal with mom's changes.

Our worries for Maria’s future. Annette cries all the time when she thinks of the moments mothers look forward to. Will she be here? Will Maria be all she can be without her? Will she see her graduate college? Fall in love, get married?
There is a great possibility she will miss them all!

We went through so much - waiting (3-1/2 years) for our daughter. Our hope was almost lost, but it happened.

We have no idea how much this all will cost us. Can we survive the surgery? Can she get the heart she needs in time? Can we survive the bills, keep our home?
Will our daughter be able to stay in her home? Will she lose her mommy and her home in one cruel swipe of fate?

My wife is a survivor, but will her body reject the new heart? All these questions are weighing down on our daily thoughts and as a husband I am helpless.

*** My wife deserves a chance. She has been there for so many, taking care of her disabled mother for over 32 years.
I am hoping every one of you kind people will donate something, anything because we are unsure what funds we will need. Insurance is a joke today and I don’t want a nameless face telling choosing if my wife lives or dies.

The greatest and immediate need is to save our home and pay for all the doctor and hospital bills.

If a heart is not able to be acquired in time – then a miracle is needed. I would like to take her to Lourdes for this miracle.

Our daughter needs her mother, I need my wife. Any help you can provide will help us. I have been researching everything and I cannot find much information after to 2012 for costs, side effects, insurance pays for what, issues, concerns, etc. The only reports I could find on what a heart transplant costs range from $997,000 – $1.2 million dollars. This is unfathomable to me. I am so scared of losing the only person who ever loved me, cared for me, supported me, and honored me.
Annette is the better of us.

Your help will get us through these trials and you will be blessed.

Thank you for all your help, Jack
