Update: June 7th. that's the day Liam is coming home to Clonberne for good. We have 41% raised towards our goal. We are overwhelmed.

We just want to have Liam living at home with us.
He just wants to play the drums http://youtu.be/_Ec-RhCoixw
Please help us to fund our Mobility Car so he can be discharged. If you could donate €5 instead of that coffee and muffin, or extra pint after work, we really would be eternally grateful. Liam has spent his entire life in hospital and will be 4 in Sep.

Swapping just one coffee & muffin or even your after work Beer with a small €5 donation to Liam, will probably make no difference to your world, but will make THE world of difference to his. Liam's discharge from hospital is dependent on his family being able to buy a Mobility vehicle so he can be wheeled in, and secure with his equipment as he goes about his day, when he is living at home. They cost between €8-10,000  and we need to raise this by June. Without a car, they will not discharge him, and the nurses that the HSE have worked tirelessly to recruit over the past 5 months will surely be redeployed and Louise cannot even contemplate how Liam would cope. How could anyone cope with that?

We ran the "Better Than Eggs!" campaign, as was delighted to receive donations from all corners of the earth, from friends and distant family.

Take a look at 'Liam's Cause' on Facebook. An avid musician, currently hoping to replace 'Animal' from the Muppet Show, he is full of mischief and can't wait to experience life at home every day and every night.

Liam Mac an tSaoi was born 19 Sep 2010, at 23.5 weeks old weighing less than a pound. He has overcome many live threatening obstacles in his short life to date, and so have his parents. He has never lived at home, and his family have had to live over 130 miles apart over the last 3 years. Thanks to Joe Duffy and the support of his radio audience, and the general public to finally highlight this marvellous chap and his constant struggle. He has complex needs, chronic lung condition, PKU, and has a prosthetic leg, but does is stop him?

Last week his family enjoyed his first ovdrnight stay at home, but it was very distressing for him returning to the hospital room with his little arms outstretched trying to prevent them from wheeling him in. Heart breaking.

Liam just wants what every other child has...the right to live with his family. A second hand mobility car will cost approx 8-10,000 euro. He will not be allowed to leave the hospital in June without a mobility vehicle despite the family fundraising for the customised car seat prescribed by the HSE at a cost of €1400 which is now not suitable, so the family are back to the start again.

Do you really need to buy that Egg? Can you give up just one coffee and muffin, or end of working week nice cold beer?

Mobility Vehicle - This is the type of vehicle that Liam would need to be safely transported day to day, to and from hospital for appointments, to his playschool in september and to everywhere else that he wants to explore.
