The Wheelers Sharing Jesus in Nepal

Donation protected

About Us
Nathan and Cheryl Wheeler met at Freed-Hardeman. We're former missionaries to Cambodia (2004-2008), where we learned the language, evangelized and worked with the church. We have three girls (6, 4, 7 mos.). Nathan has a Master's from Harding Grad and is currently the pulpit minister for the Pine Castle Church of Christ. Cheryl homeschools our children and photographs weddings.

The Blood of Bulls and Goats...
Several months ago, I (Nathan) read an article about the the way the Gospel is spreading in Nepal, where animal sacrifices are frequently made to appease the angry "gods" by Hindus. It struck me—these precious souls don't know the Sacrifice has already been made, and by the only God who loves them!

The glorious Gospel of God's love for all is beginning to spread, especially among those who are considered of "lower caste." After warm correspondence with some Christian leaders in Nepal, who asked us to consider coming to work with the church, I felt convicted to pray about the possibility of going.

An Open Door
After a few months of prayer, a young mother who spoke broken English came for the first time into our Sunday morning Bible class. When I asked her where she was from, she answered, "Nepal." :)

Our wonderfully kingdom-minded eldership, has agreed to allow us extended time away for our trip this year. During that time, we plan to work with the Nepal Center For Biblical Study, where Nathan will help equip leaders. These leaders then go into Nepal and communicate the Gospel with those who've never heard. We will also look for opportunities to serve and encourage in other ways.

What Will It Take?
We plan to be in Nepal for approximately 2 months. In order not to be a burden to Pine Castle, we're not requesting salary while we are gone. We're aware that many churches have tight budgets, but we've decided to go whether or not we can raise funds to help with the trip. However the cost of tickets, lodging, transportation, food,  passports, etc. combined with a loss of two month's salary really adds up. So, if anyone can help contribute towards our biggest expense (plane tickets), we would be most grateful!

Is It Worth It?
We expect this to be a very hard trip for our family, but we are hopeful that it will be an eternal blessing in the Kingdom. You wouldn't think that the church in Antioch could get much more encouragement—they had Paul and Barnabas working with them!  But, Judas and Silas travelled there and "said much to encourage and strengthen the believers" (Acts 15:32). God intends His people to cross-pollinate. God's kingdom flourishes when His people make the effort to share their gifts with each other.

Thank You!
Speaking of gifts, we greatly appreciate any gift of support and PLEASE keep us in your prayers. We very much feel the effects of those who pray for us daily. If you'd like to learn more about us, ask a question, or want to inquire about sending a check through the eldership, please contact us through Pine Castle's website.

Grace and Peace,
Nathan and Cheryl
