October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, But what if we also include several other issues that are affecting women, men and children.
On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. During one year, this equates to more than 10 million women and men.
Sexual violence affect women and men, about 1in3 women and 1in 6 men were victims of contact sexual violences at some point in their lives.
Nearly 1 in 11 female and approximately 1 in 15 male high school students report having experienced physical dating violence in the last year.
Every pregnancy-related death is tragic, especially because about 60% are preventable. Still, about 700 women die each year from complications of pregnancy. A pregnancy-related death can happen during pregnancy, at delivery, and even up to a year afterward (postpartum). Source: CDC Center for Disease Control.
We promise to be good stewards with the money you have entrusted to us, by using it to pay our rent on our office space for clients to come and get care coordination services, help with printing flyers for awareness, provide snacks for support groups as well as other events.
By understanding these types of violence and providing awareness we can help try and prevent them before they happen. We know that you have other obligations so whatever you can donate we would truly appreciate it, any an everything can make a difference.
Again, I just want to reiterate our dedication to providing support, awareness and advocacy to both male and female because their both susceptible to becoming victims. We appreciate you very much and be blessed. www.themilfordgroup.org
