Weston's Fight for Life

Donation protected
We need some heroes!!!!  When 2 year old Weston Selby was born, Sept 25, 2013 he entered this world facing numerous debilitating medical complications. Weston has had a daily fight with kidney failure and Congenitial  Heart defeat. He lived his first 9 months in Children's  Hospital of Philadelphia, during which Weston went on to experience nine surgeries, over 45 blood transfusions and has been  medically revived twice. His parents, Vineland NJ residents, Jason and Amanda Selby were told numerous times that their son may not make it through the day and night. Weston persisted, made his way through each battle he faced. Finally, 20 days after his birth, Weston was placed in his parent’s arms for the first time.

When Weston was finally sent home, his parents were told that he has permanent brain damage and will require various medications for the rest of his life. Since then Weston has been back numerous times for compunding operations. Weston and his parents travel to CHOP  2 or 3 times a week.

Amanda had to quit her job to attend to her sons complicated medical problems. Weston requires 24/7 care, many special different medications, special formula, physical occupation,  speech therapy, and a feeding tube.  All of which have taken a toll physically and financially on his parents. Unfortunately insurance companies will not pay for a medical crib/bed or a medical prone standing chair, hopefully allowing him to stand on his own one day.

On April 7th 2016 Weston was the recipient of a kidney transplant after his little kidney had been through too much. Amanda was able to donate her own kidney to save her 2 ½ year old son Weston’s life. They both are currently still in the hospital, surgery went well. Weston, however; is havening breathing problems and is on a ventilator and sedated for pain.

Due to both his wife and son having major surgeries and complications, Jason Selby has had to take unpaid time away from work.  Weston’s parents have been told that he will need constant care and supervision. Amanda and Jason face each day with mounting stress over Weston’s fragile condition and flood of mounting medical bills.  Please help Jason and Amanda concentrate on their own recovery and Weston's fight for life.    At this time there is no telling how long Weston will remain at Children's Hospital and how long Jason will need to be with his wife and son.

Thank you for your time.  If you can not donate, your prayers have already proven to be priceless.
