Wendy Lorraine (Weston) [Lyman] Trainer, my mother 1955 – 2017 has returned to the arms of her mother and father JoAnn Hardman and Milton Lyman, and her beloved sister and brother Sharon Palesh and Clifford Lyman and furry friends Rocky (dog), Scruffy (dog), Buster (dog) Molly (goat), Boogy Bird (bird), and Snickers (bunny). Wendy was born in Salt Lake City, UT on March 31, 1955 and passed away on July 10, 2017 peacefully in her sleep in her apartment in Las Vegas, NV.
Wendy was an actress, model, and business owner in her younger years. She was cast as an original showgirl at MGM, frequented the billboards of Caesars Palace and Desert Inn, was titled “Ms. Sands Hotel”, honeymooned at the Dunes and finally retreated off the strip to the Longhorn. She was a beacon of light and integrity within the original cast of characters who helped create the city of Las Vegas. In her later years, she was a proud breast cancer survivor of 21 years. She loved to make blankets for children in ‘Make a Wish Foundation’, run toy drives for children in need during the holidays and donated regularly to ASPCA. She also loved to play detective with her favorite criminal TV shows. Her true calling in life and her favorite time spent was being a mother, and it was here where she really shined. Wendy lit up a room when she entered with her infectious laugh and her wicked sense of humor.
Wendy is survived by her only daughter, Elishia Marie Trainer, (like a son) Mark A. Trainer, her sisters Becky Blanchard and Susan (Craig) Bettridge and her brothers Kurt, Ken (Beth), Tim (Pita), and Matt (Jen) Lyman.
“Hold this memory bittersweet until we meet. Fly, fly do not fear. Don’t waste a breath, don’t shed a tear. Your heart is pure, your soul is free. Be on your way, don’t wait for me. Above the universe you’ll climb. On beyond the hands of time. The moon will rise, the sun will set. But I won’t forget.”
Funeral and celebration of life plans are pending, to be managed by Elishia Trainer, Las Vegas, NV and Larkin Memorial Services, Salt Lake City, UT.
