Help Military Couple Get Married

Give a Military Couple Their Dream Wedding

On December 11th 2013 a tragic event took place that changed the course of Ryan Boswell's life forever. A former marine and friend of Ryan's was serving his first tour of active duty in Afghanistan when he was killed in action. The two were very close and this loss cut deep for Ryan, deep enough to wake a need for him to serve his country, to take his fallen friends place and bring further honor to his already esteemed name by becoming a US Marine.

The purpose of this Gofundme campaign and the root of story begins over five years ago when Ryan met and became highschool sweethearts with the love of his life, Lindsay Shurtleff. Ryan and Lindsay continued to get to know one another and date all throughout college. Ryan went to Franklin Pierce University to play baseball and receive a degree in Criminal Justice and Lindsay, who is currently pursuing a career as a Nurse in Keene State College, is still enrolled. The two are now engaged and have been fantasizing about their dream wedding for quite some time now but Ryan recently received the news that he was to be deployed overseas.

Lindsay, after receiving the news, came across an essay contest on the Massachusetts Fallen Heros website (link below) hosted by Joanna Cook Kjellman. The winner of the contest is to be married on the grounds of the private Westwood home of Mrs. Kjellman and, after careful consideration, the essay submitted by Lindsay was selected! We have all been very moved by her story and her soon to be husbands admirable decision and call to arms. The men and women of our United States armed forces give so much to protect our freedoms, and what better way to give back than to make a bride and grooms  dreams come true.

On Friday July 8th, 2016 Ryan and Lyndsay are to be married, but we have yet to meet our goal to cover all of the costs of the wedding, and every little bit counts! Please take a moment to share our campaign, make a donation, and spread this story of love, devotion, and commitment to our great country. Contrary to popular belief, love need not be a battlefield, lets come together to support this marine and his future wife as a thank you for putting his life on the line to protect us.
