My name is Sam Green.
A few things about me....
I am 32 years old and from Highlands, NJ.
I'm pursuing a degree in political science at Brookdale Community College.
I own a seasonal kettle corn business.
I love everything that has to do with the outdoors.
Starting May 14th, 2021, My dog and I will be attempting to walk across the USA from NJ to CA. Specifically, Sandy Hook to Los Angeles. 3000 miles across our great nation.
In one of my political science classes, I had to write about a local current event. By pure chance, I ended up finding an article on Just Believe Inc. After reading about all the amazing work that they are doing for Ocean County's homeless, I decided to make my journey less about myself. I often say that I am taking this walk because I lost my faith in humanity. Well, it just so happens that Just Believe Inc's slogan is "restoring hope in humanity" Hope leads to faith.
SAD FACT: Ocean County is the only county in NJ to not have a homeless shelter!!!! Just Believe Inc. Is working hard to make a shelter a reality. They need our help!
With our nation's recovery from Covid-19 on the horizon and once the eviction bans are lifted, I fear that we will be facing a serious homeless crisis in NJ. I was immediately inspired by Just Believe Inc to share this journey in hopes that we can raise some money. I understand $25,000 is an ambitious goal, but we have 4 months to make it.
Together, we can help Just Believe Inc make a difference in so many lives. The voiceless and unfortunately future voiceless will need all the help they can get.
